St. Andrew's Church...

ministers to people from many different traditions and lands, right in the heart of Rome. Practical mission work includes a major commitment to provide 200-250 packed lunches to refugees three times a week on Monday (by the English Anglican Church in Rome), Thursday and Friday, with volunteers from St. Andrew's and other churches - notably in 2012 the Methodist Church at Ponte Sant'Angelo and students from USA completing the social work part of their course.  During the winter months we donate the use of our minivan to the Salvation Army.  One of our elders works with them taking food, hot tea and blankets to the homeless on Sunday and wednesday evenings during the winter.

We are presently working to establish a twinning relationship with Osu North Presbyterian Church in
Accra, Ghana, and also with North Motherwell Parish Church in Scotland.  Last summer 12 of our members spent a joyous weekend in the Stroove Centre in Skelmorlie, Ayrshire, with 12 members of the Motherwell congregation.  This year 6 of Osu North congregation plan to spend two weeks with us in Rome. This difficult and demanding task does produce some moments of encouragement and inspiration.

We give annually at the end of the year, out of what is left in the mission fund, to local and international charities.  Further information about our activities can be found on our website www.presbyterianchurchrome.org where the church newsletters are also published.
